In baseball, there's a phrase we use: "play hard, but be smart." That applies to your gear, too. I've seen it all—sunglasses that snap on a dive for a fly ball, lenses that pop out after a drop in the dugout, and frames that get bent out of shape in a gear bag.

When you're focused on the game, the last thing you want to worry about is whether your equipment is going to fail. You need gear that can take a beating and keep going. That's why I created Maris Optics.

Built for the Grind

My goal was to build a pair of Maris Sunglasses that were tougher than the game itself. It's not just about a high-quality lens; it's about the entire build. The frame, the hinges, the fit—everything has to be able to withstand the chaos of an intense play or an accidental drop.

I made sure our frames are engineered to be both lightweight and durable, and our secure hinge mechanisms are built to last. This is crucial for things like our flip up sunglasses. The hinges on those get a lot of use, so they have to be reliable. We designed our baseball flip up sunglasses to handle the constant action of a player flipping them up and down without a second thought.

This isn’t just for baseball, either. Our sunglasses are for anyone who lives an active lifestyle. Whether you're a parent on the sidelines, a coach, or an athlete in any sport, you need gear that's as tough as you are. You shouldn't have to be careful with your sunglasses. They should be able to withstand whatever life throws at them.

At the end of the day, I wanted to create a product I could trust. I wanted a pair of Maris Sunglasses that I knew wouldn’t fail me, and that's exactly what we built.
